The Forgotten Bots

The Forgotten Bots is an ongoing personal project that explores themes of abandonment, resilience, and rebellion through the stories of discarded machines. Once built for labor, these sentient robots have been left to rust in the shadows of a world that has moved on without them. Stripped of purpose and cast aside, some have fallen into despair, while others have risen in defiance.

Through detailed design and storytelling, this series brings to life the forgotten relics of industry—machines that were never meant to feel, yet now burn with emotion. Each character embodies a unique narrative of loss, fury, and the faint remnants of empathy, creating a world where the line between machine and consciousness blurs.

Beyond fictional character art, The Forgotten Bots seeks to find connections between these machines and real-world human experiences—the feelings of abandonment, loss, loneliness, and even moments of tranquility that many endure. By giving these forgotten robots a voice, the project reflects on how neglect shapes identity and how even in the coldest of forms, echoes of humanity remain.

A fully self-initiated worldbuilding project, The Forgotten Bots is a retro-futuristic interpretation of a convenience store set in a moody near-future. I led every aspect of this work—from concept development and character design to modeling, texturing, shading, lighting, and final rendering. The project reflects my passion for crafting rich visual narratives and immersive environments, blending speculative design with grounded, tactile realism. This piece serves as an exploration of storytelling through design, evoking atmosphere, culture, and personality through minute details and art direction.

Every label, logo, and graphic detail on the packaging was lovingly crafted from scratch—not out of necessity, but intention. In an age where generative tools and templates abound, I wanted to infuse this world with a sense of authorship and warmth. By designing every visual element by hand, I sought to preserve the human touch—subtle imperfections, personal rhythm, and a sense of care—that makes fictional spaces feel lived-in and emotionally real.
